About the Course..

This course  provided Athletic Trainers with the tools they need to handle the critical, accidental situations that can occur while caring for athletes on the field.  Course attendees received valuable guidance on emergency management of athletic injuries and conditions, alternative approaches to concussion management, and updates on proper spine boarding procedures.

Dr. Howard J. Levy, MD

 

Dr. Howard J. Levy is a Board Certified Orthopedic Surgeon specializing in sports medicine, arthroscopic surgery of the shoulder and knee. He completed his orthopedic surgery residency at the University of Miami, followed by a sports medicine fellowship at the American Sports Medicine Institute in Birmingham, Alabama. 
Dr. Levy consults for three Division I colleges and several other local universities, Public Schools Athletic League (PSAL), private high schools, Association of Volleyball Professionals (AVP), the U.S. Pro Ski Tour and NFL Charities Youth Football Program. He is the founding director of G.A.M.E., a non-for-profit foundation dedicated to providing medical care to student athletes. (www.gamemd.com)
Dr. Levy is an active member of the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons, American Orthopedic Society of Sports Medicine and the Arthroscopy Association of North America. In addition, he has authored numerous articles in peer review journals and participates as an instructor for courses teaching arthroscopic surgery to other orthopedic surgeons.
