Featuring Debbie Bangs, PT, DPT
Saturday and Sunday, March 9-10, 2024

This program is the APTA recognized Clinical Instructor Education & Credentialing Program. It is being hosted by Professional Seminars Ltd. The program was developed through a grant funded by the APTA under the direction of principal investigator Michael J. Emery, EdD, PT and co-investigators Nancy Peatman, PT, EdD and Lynn Ford, MS, MEd, PT, and with the materials used by the New England Consortia of Academic Coordinators of Clinical Education, Inc. The course takes 15 hours to complete. The program addresses issues of planning and preparing for physical therapy students during their clinical education experiences and facilitating learning through questioning and effective feedback. Skills of evaluation are discussed, as well as the identification and management of students with exceptional situations. The program closes with a brief look at legal implications for clinical educators, including issues presented by ADA legislation.

Who should attend?

This program is beneficial to both experienced and new physical therapist and physical therapist assistant clinical educators. The APTA recognizes all who successfully complete the course by a certificate of completion and inclusion on a roster of credentialed clinical instructors. Persons outside of physical therapy are welcome to participate in the educational program, but not the Assessment Center for credentialing.
