We are excited to announce that Dr Abigail Campbell of NYU will be presenting to the staff of Professional Physical Therapy.

LEARNING OBJECTIVES:

1. The participant will be able to demonstrate understanding of meniscal anatomy and tear types and treatment, as well as postoperative rehab programs tailored to meniscal pathology.

2. The participant should be able to identify and recognize meniscal pain from arthritis pain as well as interpret rehab protocols postop for meniscus surgery.

3. The participant should be able to describe meniscus anatomy and tear patterns as well as surgical treatments.

4. Identify the pros & cons of Repair vs meniscectomy.

SPEAKER BIO:

Dr. Abigail Campbell is an esteemed orthopedic surgeon and Director of the Women’s Sports Medicine Center at NYU Grossman School of Medicine. Her journey into orthopedics began with a personal athletic injury during her teenage years, inspiring her to pursue a career in medicine. After completing her MD at Columbia University in 2014, Dr. Campbell underwent rigorous training, including a residency at NYU and a fellowship in Sports Medicine at Cedars-Sinai Kerlan-Jobe Institute.

Dr. Campbell specializes in arthroscopic surgery and is deeply committed to the principles of sports medicine, aiming to return individuals to their passions. Her clinical expertise encompasses a wide range of orthopedic conditions, with a particular focus on knee and shoulder injuries. She combines her own athletic experiences with empathy and active listening to provide personalized patient care.

Patient satisfaction is a priority for Dr. Campbell, and she collaborates closely with a team of specialists to optimize patient experiences. In addition to her clinical work, she is actively involved in research, exploring topics such as meniscal and cartilage healing, patellofemoral instability, and tendon disease.
