We are excited to announce that Dr Guillem Gonzalez-Lomas of NYU will be presenting to the staff of Professional Physical Therapy.
Dr. Guillem Gonzalez-Lomas - Sports have always been a part of his life. So have sports injuries: he has treated them, he has suffered through them, and he has done everything in his power to overcome them. His personal experience, as well as his desire to help his patients get better, have shaped his practice. At the Sports Medicine Center, part of NYU Langone Orthopedic Center, He specializes in sports medicine and offers people a variety of treatments, including ligament reconstruction, cartilage repair, hip arthroscopy, elbow and knee surgery, and shoulder replacement. He cares for his patients like he would want his mother, father, brother, or sister to be treated.
He's active in the sports medicine world. He has lectured internationally on sports injuries and has instructed and directed multiple courses on cartilage preservation, as well as hip, hockey, and fighting injuries. He is a New York State Athletic Commission ringside physician and a USA Wrestling team physician, and has covered multiple world championship boxing, mixed martial arts, wrestling, and Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) events. An avid hockey player, he is also the head team physician for the National Women’s Hockey League’s Metropolitan Riveters, and an integral part of the medical coordination of the league.
In addition to teaching residents and fellows at NYU School of Medicine, he cohost the sports medicine show on Sirius XM Doctor Radio, where they discuss the latest trends in the world of sports medicine, separating fact from fad.
