2024 Physician Lecture Series: Hamstring Injuries- Running the Gamut

We are excited to announce that Dr Guillem Lomas of NYU will be presenting on Hamstring Injuries- Running the Gamut.

LEARNING OBJECTIVES:

1. Analyze the anatomical structures and mechanisms involved in hamstring injuries.

2. Diagnose various types of hamstring injuries using physical examination and imaging techniques.

3. Design effective treatment and rehabilitation plans for patients with hamstring injuries.

SPEAKER BIO:

Dr. Guillem Gonzalez-Lomas has been involved in sports all his life, and he knows firsthand the challenges of sports injuries. He has not only treated them, but also suffered through them and overcome them. His personal experience and his dedication to helping his patients get better have shaped his practice. He specializes in sports medicine and offers a variety of treatments, including ligament reconstruction, cartilage repair, hip arthroscopy, elbow and knee surgery, and shoulder replacement. He treats his patients with the same respect and compassion he would show to his own family.

Dr. Lomas is passionate about treating active people at every level. He is an avid hockey player himself, and he serves as the team physician for the National Hockey League’s New Jersey Devils. He is also a New York State Athletic Commission ringside physician and a board member of the Association of Ringside Physicians. He has covered many world championship events in boxing, mixed martial arts, wrestling, and Ultimate Fighting Championship. He applies the same attention, diligence, and care to all his patients as he does to elite professional athletes.

Dr. Lomas is also an educator and a communicator. He teaches residents and fellows at NYU School of Medicine, and he cohosts the sports medicine show on Sirius XM Doctor Radio, where he discusses the latest trends in the world of sports medicine, separating fact from fad.
