ABOUT THE EVENT:
This course provides a unique view into common movement patterns of the lower extremity that are an integral part of both everyday and sport activity. These movement patterns are evident across all populations regardless of age and ability. Often patients develop dysfunction and compensatory patterns that alter these basic movements. This course will teach how to properly assess and retrain lower extremity movement patterns, as well as how to apply them to training patients for return to functional activity. Participants will gain knowledge of how to decrease risk for injury of the lower extremity and additionally improve functional performance. The course will provide an interactive learning atmosphere utilizing didactic lecture, but predominantly focusing on lab demonstration and active participation. Corrective strategies will emphasize exercise progressions and regressions to create a tailored approach to fit each patient’s needs. Participants with either limited or advanced experience with movement patterns will learn techniques that can be immediately applied to their clinical practice.
