We’re excited to announce that Kevin Weaver PT, DPT, OCS, will be presenting on Treating Musculoskeletal Trigger Points this month. Join us!

In this lecture, Kevin Weaver PT, DPT, OCS, will share his expertise on the treatment of musculoskeletal trigger points. Trigger points are areas of muscle that are hyper-irritable and often result in pain, stiffness, and decreased range of motion. As a physical therapist, Dr. Weaver has extensive experience in identifying and treating trigger points, helping patients to relieve their pain and improve their quality of life.

During the lecture, Dr. Weaver will cover the anatomy and physiology of trigger points, including how they develop and how they can be differentiated from other sources of pain. He will then discuss a range of treatment options, including manual therapies, and other modalities, along with tips for managing pain and promoting healing at home.

Dr. Weaver graduated from NYU’s Program in Physical Therapy in 1990. He also received a Masters from NYU’s Program in Ergonomics and Biomechanics in 1995, and his transitional DPT degree from Temple University in 2005. Kevin is certified as an Orthopaedic Clinical Specialist (OCS) by the American Board of Physical Therapy Specialties, and certified in ergonomics by the Board of Certified Professional Ergonomists (CEA) and the Oxford Institute (CIE). In addition to his clinical responsibilities at Academy Physical Therapy, Kevin is an Assistant Clinical Professor in the Doctoral Program in Physical Therapy, and Director of the Clinical Residency in Orthopaedic Physical Therapy at NYU. His professional interests include orthopaedic and sports physical therapy, manual therapy, ergonomics and repetitive strain injury.
